I have set before you an open door. Revelations

Much in this world is governed by the principle of uncertainty but conversely there is alot which is black and white. Hold your hand to a flame and you will get burnt, stand in front of a train and you are in serious

trouble and so forth. So it’s extraordinary to me that so many people seem ambivalent and uncertain about the consequences of living a life without God. Let’s take the macro first. More people died through acts of violence perpetrated upon them by their fellow man in the 20th century than all the preceding centuries put together. The horror and bloodshed primarily circled around the personalities and regimes of three individuals Hitler,Stalin and Mao. Their ideologies had three things in common a total absence of God to

the point of religious persecution, celebration of a bogus man made ideal and an absolute disregard for the feelings and lives of those they deemed to be against them. The two greatest commandments Love the Lord thy God and thy neighbour thrown to the winds. The result : war, stalags, gas chambers and

famine on an apocalyptic scale. Look at today, mercifully to a lesser degree North Korea, the war in Syria again its all about the ambitions and desires of men and their regimes ,the result, as always, pain and the suffering of innocents on a huge scale.

Move away from God and as night follows day a broken world is assured. We are weary and burdened of destruction and evil but instead ofseeking ‘rest’ we still embrace torment. The church misses a vital path for bringing more followers to Christ it is simply a road marked ‘ history’ and just as with our own lives , we can see in the passing centuries the clearest reflection of the consequences of a world without God.
