‘ I am God and there is no other’ Isiah 45

I had a strange experience the other day. A Thai friend of mine who is a devout Buddhist and never once mentioned Christianity in all the time that I’ve known him, suddenly told me that Jesus had visited him in a dream. How did you know it was Christ ? I asked. You’ve never been to church or read as much as one word of the Bible. I just knew it was Jesus Christ he answered , when I awoke I thought I was dreaming as his presence in my dream was more real than anything I’ve ever experienced with a clarity and force that made everything else in life seem as a dream. He asked me to help him learn more.So I bought him a Bible and suggested he read the gospels .He said he would never be the same again after such a revelation. As CS Lewis wrote allow Christ into your  soul once and you can never be without him again.Which is why I believe so many people are shy of opening the door in the first place ‘ what I open can never be shut’. For the last few weeks I’ve been trying to figure out why my friend was chosen what was the reason ? Why did Christ choose to make the first step? Why not the other people we know and pray that they may be shown the light but remain in darkness.

The truth is I don’t know there are no easy answers but I do know it happened and maybe that’s the point. For me so much of Christianity especially the resurrection is in my heart knowing that it happened, an indivisible truth, without being able to answer all the questions accept knowing it could not have happened any other way. Christianity is based on faith we see the light under the curtain but it remains never fully drawn back. For a being that is both God and love there can be no other way.
