' Jesus wept' 11 John 35

The shyest verse in the bible . Jesus is weeping for his friend Lazarus and was deeply moved by the sorrow of those around him. If I was asked in one phrase to sum up the message of the gospels it would be ' God shows empathy with his creation'The life and death of Jesus is the story of Gods decision to come to the rescue of mankind.

Empathy defies the rules of Darwinism . I can see no reason at all why it plays a necessary role in evolution . Quite the reverse like many aspects of accepted morality I can think of many instances where empathy is detrimental to the 'selfish gene.' There are I believe many aspects of life that reflect our creator rather than our biology .We are in many respects mirrors of the divine self which has been woven into our being. Empathy, love, the desire to create beauty for its intrinsic worth, abstract thought, metaphysics these a parts of living that fall in a completely different category to mere existence . God reveals himself to us from within us.

I saw a picture the other day of the structure of the universe which we are able to see for the first time through radio telescopes in their finest detail. Alongside it was a picture of a human neuron they are identical. Is the universe alive ? I don't know but I do know that creation shares common genetic information using the same molecules DNA/RNA the web that binds us is more than just fate.

The life of Jesus shows that the master builder didn't just leave us his blueprint and walk away we are not his building blocks but his children.
