‘ love is Gods will in action’

I sometimes wonder how many of our so called Christian apologists have actually bothered to read the gospels. Lately there has been yet another round of in fighting over whether Christians who ‘compromise’ in doing so stray from doctrine and become agents of the devil. This has led to a mass of egotistic nonsense with idiocies such as the alpha course being called demonic because it was offered to Catholics and the Catholic Church named and evil cult. Christians who reach out to other faiths are blasphemers and so on. Christianity as ever its own worst enemy due to the endless attempts by so called leaders of the church to subvert and twist its message.

There are certain things for which,of course, there can be no compromise. Hitler was allowed to grow strong as a succession of European leaders tried to compromise with the Nazis.Until Winston Churchill saw the black an white of pure evil for what it is. Likewise conditions such as the slavery of another human being is wrong , there is no middle ground. But being told not to say ‘God bless’ to another believer because your doctrines may not agree is clearly rubbish. I believe if you distill the words of Jesus in the gospels you come down to two that basically cover his entire message. Love and forgiveness for both of which there can be no compromise. Any preaching or doctrine from whatever religion Christian or otherwise where they are absent is,in my view, clearly wrong. All the creations of man whether it be the Alpha course or the Catholic Church have flaws but we must ask ourselves are they of pure intent ? We are being asked to put Pope Francis in the same bucket as Stalin. The way of Christ is love, peace, joy, forgiveness any attempt to portray as otherwise does the Christian message a huge injustice.

Pope Francis is leaving on a 4 day trip to Iraq to reassure its persecuted Christian minority and foster inter-religious dialogue this is what he says’ I am coming among you as a pilgrim of peace.Seeking fraternity and prompted by the desire to pray together with our brothers and sisters of other religious traditions’ .Christ said in John ‘ everyone will know you are my disciples if you love one another ‘. Francis saint or devil I know my choice.
