'Love the Lord with all your heart and soul and mind' Matthew 22

I believe that heart, soul and mind are the three clearest indicators of a God of creation. True love agape is in many respects the antithesis of the Darwinian selfish gene as it is selfless to the point of being self- sacrificial. Likewise if we all look hard enough we find that there is a part of us, our soul, that can never be satisfied with the material we have a metaphysical dimension that lays beyond CS Lewis says it perfectly ' if you have desires this world cant satisfy then logically you were meant for another world'. But of the three signposts to a divine architect mind is the one most often overlooked.

It's interesting that Dawkins perhaps the most famous living atheist describes humans as 'machines for propagating DNA' and DNA itself as a digital technology factory. Evolution is natural selection and mutation. A factory and digital technology have an inventor a purpose, a mind. A computer just like DNA gives us information rich messages but all computers are the result of agency such as a software architect. The human genome consists of 3.7 billion letters in in exactly the right order in a four letter chemical alphabet. Information, words ,instructions are at the heart of life. Evolution transmits its never been proven that it can create and irreducible complexity suggests to me that it was never designed for that purpose and if it could the process of creation certainly doesn't suggest a `blind watchmaker`. The irony is we look at something so much simpler such as a car engine and immediately assume intelligence. Dr John Lennox sums it up brilliantly by using the analogy of a humble menu. The paper and ink simply relay a semiotic message (lamb stew)and immediately we assume a chef as the information conveys creation, purpose and intelligence. Yet so many people ignore what to me is a blindingly obvious fact. As Einstein wrote ` the most incomprehensible thing about the universe is that it is comprehensible’ yet physics and math are not part of evolution .So why information and our ability to comprehend it? Dietrich Bonhoeffer said` We are to find God in what we know God wants us to realize his presence ‘ knowledge and understanding are his gift ‘for the Lord gives wisdom from his mouth’ Proverbs.
