Committed atheists believe that life occurred by chance. We came from nothing and we return to nothing. No meaning a pointless passage like the brief flashing of a flint in a dark cave ,nihilism at its purest. Apart from the numerous arguments both metaphysical and scientific supporting a creation of positive design there is one key overriding ingredient in the mix of life that for me makes atheism a logical impossibility.
Ravi Zacharius postulates that we live in the only universe where love is possible. There are two key features to true love first it must be freely given love cant be coerced. A God of love must give his creation freedom of choice which includes the ability to turn away from him. But where is love in a Godless universe, there is nothing to turn from. The existence of love leads to the second point true love is placing a value to something which is greater than the self. But for an atheist how can this be because the only thing of value, albeit for a brief period, is the self. There is no possible evolutionary or moral argument for belief in a metaphysical love if there is no God. For them there is no objective moral code for them one individuals moral position is as good as anyone else’s. But there are many atheists who insist they experience true love. I believe it’s true they can but the question they need to ask themselves is . How come ?
